Text John 1:43-51
In our text, Phillip comes
to Nathaniel and proclaims that he has found the one whom Moses wrote about. He
is Jesus of Nazareth. While we do not know what expression Nathaniel had on his
face when he responded, I think that it is safe to say that his response
revealed a cynical sneer/shock/unbelief.
"Can anything
good come from Nazareth?"
Let’s talk about
Nazareth.
Historically,
which kind of town was Nazareth at that time?
What
were their reputations?
How was Jesus linked to
Nazareth?
Philip said to him, Come and
see.

Nathaniel responded and he was
transformed. He became a follower because Phillip invited him.
